I love Christy, I really do, she has a passion for empowering women and I am able to connect with her. I bought this book hoping it would be a guide for my business or give me answers to questions I didn't know to ask but I couldn't get past the first few chapters. I guess this was my mistake for not reading the title correctly but everything was "you gotta love what your doing! love it! love it! LOVE IT!!" and honestly, I do get joy out of what I am doing but it's not my passion I don't LOVE IT. I do it because it gives me a creative outlet and well, mostly because it makes me money. I started to doubt what I was doing because based on this book, I felt that if I don't love it then it won't work and that's just not true. Maybe I'll skip ahead and see if it really gets in to talking about business but I needed to take a break from it so I didn't quit something that is working for me. I think (most of the time) you have to decide if you want to live your passion or make money, very few people will find something that does both. For example, I LOVE baking! I could wake up everyday at 3 am and start baking BUT after much research, I know it won't make me money and as a family of 6, we need money over hard work and hardly any pay. So I would prefer to do something I LIKE so in the future I can do something I LOVE. Yes, my mistake for not reading the title, hopefully I am able to get some knowledge out of the next few chapters.

Very informative and helpful! I felt like I was falling behind in a lot of the “business” side of my small business but, after reading this I feel more confident and empowered in my ability to make my small business a success! Christy’s writing style has a knowledgeable “big sister” feel. She makes learning about small business easy to understand by breaking it down in simple steps to follow! I’m so glad I bought this book, it is by far the best $20 investment I’ve made in my small business and in my confidence as a business owning woman :)

Christy provides some great insight on how to create a business that feeds your soul and feeds your bank account! I am going to read it again because it is full of great ideas and valuable lessons!

I'm a huge Christy Wright fan already. This book puts everything you learn in the Business Boutique events into simple and actionable items. Christy's voice is evident throughout, you can hear her cheering you on at the end of every chapter. If you are a women trying to start a business or trying to boost and existing business- read this book and do the activities. You WILL see a change.

I really enjoyed this book. I started my business before reading this buy there was still so much that I learned from it. My favorite part was addressing the fears and learning to see the truth that those fears are masking. It makes you realize how narrow minded your fear really are and it suddenly seems silly to let those fears control your life.

This book is awesome. There's so much great information and Christy breaks it all down to make it easy to pull together your business plan. It's inspiring and my business has already grown because I've put some of her suggestions into practice. I'm going to be buying some copies for other ladies who aren't sure how to take their business to the next level.

I took a chance on this being that there were no reviews. Right off the bat, I am 100% happy with my purchase.-it's a notebook size log. Which is what I wanted. I'm not a fan of the smaller reader's journals I've had in the past.-the cover is beautiful and really does have a matte finish. Feels lovely.-TABLE OF CONTENTS. Sorry to shout. I've always been frustrated with journals that just jump into book reviews. I like to have an actual log to look at to be able to give a quick glance at when I can't remember the actual title of something I want to suggest to a friend. I will often remember parts of the story or a bit of the title, so seeing the titles spark my memory.-the table of contents consists of 100 lines to log your titles.-following the table of contents you will have a page each to record the specifics of the book as well as a review.-after the pages to review they've added the list of 100 books to read. I like this because I have several of these books on my reading list for this year.-there's a page for general notes.-and finally log to record books that you loan out.I'm putting in an order for several more copies so that I can re-log from my previous journals that I just don't really care for and extras for the future because with my luck they won't be available later when I need another. :)I hope this review helps you, I spent days going over various options before I decided to give this one a shot. I'm glad I did.

 The cover is soft and feels nice. The paper quality is good. Table of contents has space to write the title and genre of 100 books. Then 1 page per book with places to write title, author, publisher, page count, genre, a review, great quotes from the book and a quick rating area. The back has a list of 100 top rated fiction books, a place for notes, and a page to track loans. It is everything I would want in a reading log.

I agree totally with the previous reviewer! In fact, it was because of the excellent description and images presented there that I sent for this reader's log. I have been an avid reader for too many years to count and decided it's time to purchase a journal/log! I'm glad I waited to find this one. The large format is ideal to keep on my desk and I love the cover design of books, as well as all that is inside for me to enjoy filling in. You can't go wrong with this reading journal,.

I really loved the layout for this journal and and how the pages looked. I was even more excited about it when I got the book in my hands. The only problem I have with it is that instead of opening up to the table of contents page it opened to page 52/53. So it was misprinted. :( A bit of a let down, but it does not obviously render the journal unusable by any means. I simply cut page 52/53 out and will live with out it.For the price, it's not worth exchanging, and it may have been a fluke.Again, otherwise, I love it and I would recommend it to a friend.

I just got a couple of these for my 2017 reading challenges and I LOVE them!! They're perfect for keeping track of the books I've read and what I thought of them. I like my apps on my phone but it's nice to have something on paper for my kids to read when they get older. I wish my mom had done this when she read her books during my childhood. I would highly recommend them!!!

I'm an avid reader and I don't keep track of the titles of books I've read. Consequently, I've gotten a new book, began to read it, it sounded rather familiar, and within a few chapters, I realize I've read the book before! To save time, frustration, and money, I decided to get a reading log. I looked at several different versions, but the format on this one was appealing to me. It is a soft cover book, so I hope it will survive long enough to get through 100 books with me. I love that it has a list of 100 top books in the back- a great resource when I don't know what to read next. The list in the front serves as a sort of "table of contents" while the list of borrowed books makes sure you don't commit the ultimate offense: book thievery! It's about the size of a composition notebook. FYI-this is a perfect gift idea for the readers (books or otherwise) in your life!

This is a handy book for readers to jot down what they thinknabout books theybare reading. If you buy one of these for the book worm in your house and encourage them to use it, it will help YOU out come gift giving days - thumb through it for titles already read! It saves you from buying an "old" book as a gift. For the reader, it helps you remember what you liked or disliked so you can forwarn friends when you lend or recommend the book to others. I have had several tyoes of these books, and so far, this one has the most room in it .

I absolutely adore this journal!!!I was a very avid reader when I was a kid but have since gotten out of habit. This book has made me want to read. I also enjoy having an organized place to put down my thoughts when I read. The table of contents in the front is extremely helpful.As a teacher I see this as a great model for teaching kids how to think about whether a book was "good" or not.I would recommend this for kids or adults who love books and reading!!

First off: I have zero qualifications for evaluating Prof. McMillan’s work— she’s a scholar, author and sociologist with a decade-long track record of exceptional work. I’m merely a reader and student of the human condition in all its permutations. But I literally could not wait for Thick’s physical publication date — every review made me that much more impatient to read it for myself — and I’m so glad I finally grabbed a Kindle edition. These essays are so crammed full of striking observations about America’s current and historical racial/economic/class schisms, I feel like it’ll take me two or three more reads to process even half of her well-reasoned arguments. Not unlike reading Plato’s dialogues, this book thrust me immediately into a series of challenging conversations with a wickedly sharp thinker, and left me keenly aware of how little I truly know about the world, for which I am very grateful.

I cried real tears on a subway just reading Tressie McMillan Cottom's introduction to this book. Then cried harder at home, when I dug into the essays. And then laughed out loud as I polished off the last one, and was sad that it was already over. Tressie is a treasure and this collection is a gem. I bought this book immediately after seeing the author on The Daily Show (episode of 1/15/19) and devoured it in two days. These essays deftly weave data and personal narrative in such a compelling way that you find yourself agreeing with every argument she makes.They are not easy to read from an emotional standpoint, but they are supremely enjoyable to read from a literary one. McMillan-Cotton's voice is one you want to listen to. Even as you may cringe at the subject matter (and your complicity in it).

This was the perfect book to tuck into in the new year. I really appreciate Tressie's writing style, which is down to earth and also chock full of data (as seen by her copious footnotes and citations at the end of the book). She offers up delicious, thoughtful takes on politics, womanhood, beauty, and race in a way that feels like she's having a conversation with you in person. I bought a copy for myself and my mother, as well as for my homegirl. So, so good.

Dr. Cottom had delivered an amazing book of essays that challenges how we see, feel and think about Black women. I am numb in a good way because she's so spot on in her essays. Essays such as Know Your Whites, makes us think differently about how black people can successfully navigate this country if you don't know what motivates white people to do what they do. For example, how do you go from voting for Obama to voting for a racist and misogynistic person in Trump. Protecting whiteness.

Every essay spoke to my own experiences while also pushing me to think deeper. Hilarious, thought provoking and emotional. Highly recommend

I have purchased a lot of travel guides and have done a lot of traveling in my life. However, this is one of the most disappointing, poorly written, travel guide I have ever used. First of all, the majority of the book is lodging and dining info, mainly expensive places with little info for the budget traveler. Most of this info could be found via the internet with greater accuracy, depth, variety, etc. That was about 2/3's of the book. For some some of the more important spots like Charleston, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Savannah there was little info about history, what to see and do, etc. And most of the info was old and inaccurate. I was able to get more info, using my iPhone. Take my advice, skip this piece of poop guide and use the internet. You will be much better off in the long run. Another piece of advice, skip Myrtle Beach, SC totally! It is nothing but a bunch of hotels, bad food places, cheap beach items and miniature golf courses.

Useless book but no big deal. It was so cheap. I will donate it to my local library. But the good news.. both North and South Carolina are beautiful states to visit. The Biltmore Estate in Asheville NC was fantastic. The azaleas were at their peak.

Few photos, few maps. Few photos and maps. Don't has one summary of the most important items. Don't has the most important museums.I do not recommend.

This is a poorly written travel guide with inadequate information and with graphics (or lack there off) which makes it difficult to use. There is basically no color in the entire book except the front and back covers. The Fodor's guide is of much better quality in its writing and graphics and a superior investment of your money and time. Also, when I purchase a travel guide, I am not purchasing a political magazine or book (I can get those elsewhere). The Frommer's guide is full of political statements which can be insulting and condescending and is definitely not for anyone who may consider themselves conservative or Republican (or as the Frommer guide calls them: "far right-wing racists"), but if you are a liberal ("progressive" good guys according to Frommer), this may be the guide for you. That is, if your "progressive" eyes have the patience to go through this book without falling asleep or getting lost what you are trying to find. If you have the misfortune like myself to purchase this book, rip out the nice map and keep it, while you throw away the rest of the book into the garbage can or better yet the recycling bin (yes, we "far right-wing" people do like recycling).

The book was ok. It just didn't make clear the massive building of condos and other buildings in places where we thought the coast was clear. Matbe our misread. The outer banks were the pits.

We ordered this item almost a month prior to our vacation departure date. It never arrived. What to do on vacation is useless if you are not on vacation!

Arrived in perfect condition; true to Frommer's form was just what I wanted.

Just a few pages were torn out at the end of the volume-not critical or so it seems to me
