This was a replacement of one of my most cherished Food Processor cookbooks. I was thrilled to find one used. The condition was good enough for what I paid and for my purposes. It is my MOST favorite cookbooks. IF, I find my original , I will pass this to my Grand-daughter it is easy to follow and has a lot of basic cooking recipes. Potato pancakes (Latkes) are to die for. I was thrilled to find it here.

I have had this cookbook a long time, and it is my go-to cookbook for everything. I have made so many things from this book, and each one is as good or better than the last. The Heavenly Chicken, Favoite Tuna Casserole, Scalloped Potatoes are my most requested foods people want me to bring. The Matzah Ball reciped and briskets recipes also are wonderful. Truly a worthy investment.

Out of a collection of more than 400 cookbooks, Pleasures of Your Processor is my absolute #1 favorite. Flick through this book that always rests on my kitchen counter and you will easily be able to pick out some of my favorite recipes by the condition of the pages - well worn and splattered. Norene's recipes are well-written, easy to follow and always work. This is an excellent cookbook regardless of your ethnic background! I have gathered many cookbooks over the years and this is one of the best I've purchased. If you don't own a food processor, go out and buy one and then buy this book! I just recently purchased this book based on others reviews here, and as far as I'm concerned ALL cookbooks should be published this way (plastic coated, folds to make it's own stand, three ring bound with tabbed indexes, and two plastic "spatter shields" for the pages you are opened to). I have only made three things so far from this book: Best Coffee Cake, Chili, and Orange Corn Bread. My family and friends gave me kudos on all three. I even have adapted some of my friends older recipes to prepare them in the food processor. Just find something similar in the book, and use the techniques and order of preperation described. I can't wait to try out some of the over 697 recipes that remain. Thank you Norene, and I hope you took out a patent on that book style!

I have used the pleasures of your food processor since I married 15 years ago. IT has been my best friend in the kitchen, always providing me with new and different cooking ideas, along with teaching me about the processor. I wouldn't be without it!. I am now buying it for my cousin who bought for the first time a processor( at age 50) and has no idea what to do with it! I have bought thru the years 2 books for myself as they seem to wear out and become illegible. Our favorites are, banana chocolate chip drops( kids go wild over these), easy brocolli cheese pie, scalloped potatoes(friday nite just wouldn't be the same without these) and so many more. this was really excellent

I just received this book after wanting it for a couple of years. The recipes appear to be fairly refreshing and not to much of what I would call "frou-frou" type of recipes. I like the salad suggestions as well.

This book contains some good ideas for different kinds of fondue. The only thing that is lacking are fondue recipes in which the food does not cook in oil. I have a few recipes of my own in which the meat is cooked in broth and was looking forward to finding out more.

Dr. Null quietly and fully, without hype or celebrity fanfare, gives the facts versus fantasies about real good health.

This book is very helpful. It's very big and has a lot of information. It's not an easy read and I had to have a pen and notebook handy to jot down notes from one chapter to the next. Lots of good stuff in here, just not plain and to the point. There's no "getting healthy now", more like "get healthy in a month after you finish reading this and replace all of the junk in your pantry".

This book is way to thick. They should have made the pages 8 by 11 and the book half as thick.

Tommy Angelo in Elements of Poker, probably offered the single best piece of advice every written to becoming a good player, always play your “A” game. He never really defined what an “A” looks like, other than it was significantly better than your “D” game.The Course defines the “A” game for live low stakes no-limit Holdem. If you stick to Ed’s guidelines, you will become a winning player.I first encountered Ed over 12 years ago on the 2-plus-2 forums for his famous post, “Why You Are Not Crushing Small Stakes Holdem.” Ed had taken the time to write a long post about the skills necessary to beat the game and then took the time to answers questions. Since it was free, his only reward was helping other players get better.Ed went on to become the most prolific authors on small stakes Holdem. While I am sure he likes the money and fame, I think his principle motivations remain the same. A sincere desire to help people become better players.In The Course, Ed distills all the poker knowledge from his previous books and articles into a skill-by-skill framework to becoming proficient at 1-3, 2-5, and beyond. On any of one of these skills, there is more to learn but he provides the essential knowledge.Example, in Pokers 1%, he goes through the math of why calling and then folding too many hands is everyone’s biggest leak. In The Course, he tells you this concept, but does not spend too long on the why. To understand the why plan on reading his other books, they are all excellent and worth your while.Ed boils his advice down to advice that is very simply to remember and follow. Example, Don’t Pay People Off when they bet big is his second skill for a 1-3 level game. Just following that simple advice will enable many players to go from loser to break even. Vegas players have feasted for years on tourists never being able to lay down Ace-King when an Ace flops.To those thinking that’s “obvious”, set mining would not be profitable if most players, even supposed “good” ones would not pay you off.Later, at the 2-5 level, he explains there are times you need to violate this rule, as always folding to big bets at higher levels will become as big a leak as never folding. Next time I pay someone off, and it will happen; now I have a framework to decide if it was the right decision.Many people, who have read all of Ed’s books and articles, may wonder if this is just a repetition of previous work. For me, The Course reinforce some of the things I knew, and explained things in a way that finally got through my brain. The chapter on getting 3 streets of value from good hands was well worth the price of admission.This is one poker book where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. When you go through the entire journey with Ed, from answering the question where does the money come to taking on the pros, you emerge as a better player. I have already read the book several times, something I normally never do. It is that good. For a serious player, The Course will become the one book you always reread on the flight to Vegas.

Ed Miller has a reputation for writing excellent poker books, and “The Course” is another great one! I read this book in the hopes of drastically improving my cash game skills, and applying the strategies he teaches is going to help me do just that. I am already better at analyzing situations having played only one session after reading the book. My hand selection has greatly improved, and I feel like I am not lost in as many situations as I was before.Definitely buy this book, but don’t use the lessons, or you will become a much tougher opponent!

This is a generalized book for advanced players. If you are already beating 1/2, 2/5, and know you can beat the 5/10 competent regulars the book will give you confirmation on what you already know. The book accurately describes the state of common winning regulars that have read books, talked with friends, and posted on the internet. At the local casinos I see a field of regulars where their abilities have hit a ceiling of skill. To go beyond this requires way more investment than 95% if the field is willing to put in.If you don't understand what I am saying about and are a winning regular then this book point the path in the right direction. All you have to do is follow.One note of caution. For 2/5 Ed speaks of a barreling strategy to apply maximum aggression to your opponents in order to get them to fold better hands. While Ed is correct he lives in Las Vegas where there are many players trying to play poker for a living while feeding off of tourists. So you have players capable of folding. Depending where you live and how your games are this strategy needs to be adjusted. I have played on both coasts and games are very different between the two coasts and between various casinos.Usually there will be one casino where many regulars congregate in which this strategy can be used. But there are other casinos that no amount of barreling will force opponents to fold. So be aware when and who you can barrel off a hand and who you can't.In some of my games 90% is value 10% is bluffing. In optimal games where players fold 50% value 50% bluffing (using this method)

Honestly this book is great. It should have 5, maybe 6 stars, despite being perhaps the most expensive poker book I've ever looked at.It delivers all as is promised. At the end of each section, not chapter, there are 10 question quizzes. These were great, but seriously only 30 questions in a $50 book? You kidding me? If poker really is as deep as chess, why do I feel like the author put in the bare minimum effort?So is it worth the $50 price tag? Yeah. But he definitely put in the bare minimum to make it worth that much, will give you not a penny more.

Good for beginning to intermediate players. The book is well-written and -edited, with no-one off the typographical errors that often plague other poker books. hi i received this bundle in 2 days with free shipping, and the cost is much cheaper than in college bookstore, my college is selling it for $170.00 and i saved a lot on amazon, i am making others life easier by giving this review. it contains everything that you need, a registration code, an essel to hold your book, a small manual to accompany which i feel not necessary, and the main book of document processing.. its all in one big box.. though amazon dont give any such description and so its difficult to understand what you are ordering. i feel the other students before ordering just order a book and you can buy the code online on the gdp site.. well it both makes the same cost.. amazon saved my money..thank you so much amazon

I was very skeptical about buying this because I could not get a clear answer as to if it came with an access code and if it even worked if it did come with one. It came in a box with the cover looking like the picture. It contained a hard cover spiral text book, a student word manual, a cardboard easel and the registration card with access code (which worked). I would recommend to buy if your looking for a cheaper buy than the college bookstore.

Ordered this because it included access code per item description. But when the book came, access code did not work. On calling the publisher, they informed the code has already been used. I had to buy access code separately paying for a full book

It came with the GDP activation code and all the books I needed for my college course.

This is a great item for class. It has the large teaching book with a smaller "reference" book (gives examples of proper document formatting & abbreviations). My only complaint is the "easel" that is included: it's cardboard, had a 1/2" base/"edge" to rest a 3" book! I ended up buying a different easel (metal, with a larger base) just to hold the book in place because the cardboard one was not big enough for the book.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. I wasn't sure if the kit had the access code, so I chatted with an Amazon representative who checked on it for me and said that it did. This was a great deal because Amazon allowed me to pay for the item over a 6-month period with no interest.

This is the worst. I ordered this book in new status and it was not new. New is meaning ALL things are included. Such as access key and so on. So now this has put me behind as far as finding the correct material for my class which starts Monday and no one has the book. Thank you very much.

Works just what I needed it for, a college textbook. My complaints with it is the easel is completely worthless, some of the pages are printed off-center (luckily I can still at least read what I need to), and there are little pieces of paper that come off every time i turn a page. I think they didn't do a good job when they cut out the holes for the spiral binding.

It’s insightful, thoughtful, honest, humble, and at the same time quite entertaining.It’s full of advices, tips and hacks, and each one is combined with a compelling anecdote, example or personal experience.I was attracted to The Messy Middle because its title because it’s a relatively ignored topic, despite its relevancy. I had no idea that it would become one of my toolbox on such a vast array of important topics.It’s a must read!!!

I just finished reading The Messy Middle by Scott Belsky and highly recommend it for product managers at both startups and established tech firms. Scott Belsky shares his lessons learned optimizing and enduring the messy and unsexy middle every product goes through before (hopefully) thriving. He does a great job of sharing lessons from his own experience founding Behance and navigating Adobe post acquisition, as well from the many startups he has worked with as an investor or advisor, including Pinterest, Airbnb, Periscope, Square, and more.It's a difficult book to summarize because it's organized as 100+ mini-essays that succinctly teach a specific best practice around optimizing your team, your product, and yourself. But what I loved most was that Scott brought a far more human lens to creating winning products than traditional product best practices. I wanted to share 5 such non-obvious lessons that really stem from Scott's deep understanding of human behavior, human psychology, and human intuition.Nobody remembers, or is inspired by, anything that fits inWe often seek to describe what we are making in terms of what already exists, like the "Uber for massage" or the "Apple of razors" in an attempt to be relatable and easily understood. The downside of this is that we give up free-range innovation as the expectations for what we are building then become set by the analogy. Scott advises us not to succumb to society's gravitational force toward what is common and familiar because it can result in your fresh insights being pulled back to the mean of normalcy, thereby killing the uniqueness of the innovation you initially contemplated.Beware of creativity that compromises familiarityWhat's so interesting about The Messy Middle is that Scott fills the book with apparent contradictions, with one essay arguing for a specific best practice and then the next arguing the exact opposite. By doing so, Scott is sharing the real-world balance and trade-offs inherent in any tactic. This essay served as that exact foil to the above. In it, he suggests sometimes in our attempt to disrupt an industry, our instinct is to be different. But often the best way to capture share of an existing industry is actually to be familiar. He describes how the team behind the June smart oven originally designed a wildly different-looking product that re-imagined what an oven even looked like. But they ultimately realized that if they wanted it to be considered as an alternative to an oven, they were better served by a product that actually looked like an oven. Since they were already trying to disrupt cooking, going with a more familiar form ultimately aided their adoption. To reconcile this with the above, Scott gives us the following rule of thumb: the only time you should force new behaviors is when they enable a unique and important value in your product.Measure each feature by its own measureWe spend so much of our time building engagement drivers into products, features and experiences intended to drive customer engagement of some kind, based on our understanding of customer needs. But simply marketing our products via engagement drivers misses a key human insight: that customers don't always get most excited about the features they are most likely to use. Instead, the features that excite people most are often the novel features, even if they aren't necessarily practical. Scott calls these the interest drivers. He shares how HBO GO initially promoted it's offering with the launch of Game of Thrones by introducing a detailed map of the fictional geography into it's app as a way to encourage people to download the app on their iPad. Even though it ultimately wasn't a heavily used feature, it's novelty drove awareness and trial of the iPad app. It's important then to realize when you are building engagement drivers vs interest drivers and to hold each feature to the appropriate measures for what it is ultimately designed to drive.Mystery is the magic of engagementIn this essay Scott details the leading psychological theory on curiosity, known as the information-gap theory, describing how curiosity proceeds in two steps: 1) a situation reveals a painful gap in our knowledge (say a BuzzFeed headline), and then we feel an urge to fill that gap and ease that pain (and then we click the link). This behavior is so pervasive and is equal to other primal desires like hunger. Scott encourages us to take advantage of this when marketing our products. Instead of simply providing a tell-all about your product, the best marketing taps into the natural human tendency to want to learn and understand something that is not fully revealed. Unanswered questions drive intrigue, even if you weren't necessarily interested in the answer in the first place. Apple, with it's carefully orchestrated product launches and reveals, is the king of this, but all of us can take advantage of what Scott calls the "magic" of engagement.Data is only as good as its source, and doesn't replace intuitionWhile Scott shares lots of lessons throughout the book on how best to take advantage of data, in this essay he warns us that some of the best decisions you make may in fact run counter to what the data suggests and are instead driven by intuition.He shares a great case study at Square: a few years back, Square pioneered finger-based signatures in their cash register experience. Ultimately when VISA and Mastercard decided to no longer require signatures for transactions below $25, the obvious thing to do would have been to remove the signature experience from those transactions to significantly speed up the transaction process. But Square didn't actually do that, because they realized that people found the signature experience somewhat fun and it also was a key branding component for Square and often the only way that customers were introduced to the brand. Even to this day they allow merchants to turn off signatures for transactions below $25, but it's on by default. A great example of how a core product decision wasn't driven by what the data clearly suggested, but ultimately was a win for Square.I hope this gives you a taste of some of the insights Scott shares throughout the book. It's chock-full of so many more, so would encourage you to dig in yourself: The Messy Middle by Scott Belsky.

More than a business book, and that’s what I loved about it. It’s a book about embracing the long game and leading through ambiguity–whether you’re a founder, entrepreneur, or artist, you’ll find relevance. Belsky details the endurance it takes to bring an idea to life. It’s not always as pretty as the beginning or end, but the middle is worthy of equal attention since it’s where most of the journey takes place. As a product manager, I found the book to be particularly insightful for my daily work and career. The next time I’m asked for a great product book, I’ll be recommending this. But again, the beauty of this book is that it’s relevant for anyone who’s building something from nothing. Those who are leading others (or themselves) through uncertainty will benefit greatly from it. Far from a generic business book with the same recycled ideas, it’s original, practical, profound, and one of the best books I’ve read all year.

There are some good nuggets of info in the Messy Middle. That being said I would hesitate to call it a book. Its got an intro and a then it turns into more of a bullet point briefing. Maybe its a converted powerpoint briefing or its taken from a blog/ journal. Taking the time to really develop the thesis might have enabled the author to expand on his knowledge. There is a graphic that is used around 15 time with no change to it. Perhaps the printing in black and white took away from some indicators that might have been more clear if it was printed in colour.

I can certainly resonate similar experiences, feel relieved that my drawbacks and frustrations are not unique, and more importantly, gain valuable advices from someone who been there done that successfully.The book is well written and very fluid, conversational rather than dogmatic. I finished the book in about two weeks, enjoying thoroughly.Advice for potential readers: this book is best for those who have built/owned their own product(s). Junior PM or those who aspire to be one, might better off go with more classic agile product management books to establish a solid foundation. you don't need to follow religiously yet just like learning math and statistics, you need the theory foundation so that you can apply to more general use case.

Anyone who cares about proper language should NOT buy this book, for it is full of ugly cheap expressions, the kind that you would be ashamed to use when talking to your friend.I was very disappointed. I wish I can get back my 17 dollars. I wouldn't take such a book even for free.

I loved this book - one of my favourites for 2018. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a consultant, working in an organization or just dreaming big, this is an honest look at what it takes to succeed. It’s refreshingly honest (based on Scott’s experience and wisdom gained) and fun to read. The format makes it easy to read at a sprint and then return to the chapters (which are short and to the point) if you want to drill down into key messages and ideas. I’ve already recommended this book to many of my colleagues. The interview with Scott and Chase Jarvis is also great - check it out!

Mary Thomas was an English woman who was the editor of The Needlewoman Magazine. As part of her duties she fielded questions to The Needlewoman Service Bureau where thousands of women were writing asking how to knit this and how to embroider that. She realized that beyond the Therese de Dillmont writings of 50 years before, there were precious few resources for women to learn these beautiful crafts.So Mary Thomas started to do some research. She had been stitching since childhood and found every book she could on the subject and studied at museums. In 1934 she wrote the preeminent book: Mary Thomas's Dictionary of Embroidery Stitches where she painstakingly detailed--in diagram and text--how to make over 300 stitches in hand embroidery. This book was so well-received that two years later, she wrote the definitive: Mary Thomas's Embroidery Book which broke down the 305 stitches into 30 categories. She patiently explained the history of stitching and how to design your own patterns. Mary Thomas is one of the best all around knitting references there is. Her first book, Mary Thomas' Knitting Book, approaches every angle of knitting from a practical and sensible point of view. She doesn't raise knitting to an art form, as so many of today's popular knitting mavens try to do, but approaches it from the practical level of a craft, as it should be, in my opinion.In this, her second book, the reader is given loads of stitch patterns and suggestions on how to use many of them. Practically everything Nicky Epstein put in her books is an adaptation of something in Mary Thomas' in one form or another. Just goes to show you, there's nothing new under the sun! Certainly, this book isn't as all encompassing as Barbara Walker's Treasury volumes, but for such a small book, the reader is given a most far reaching and complete treatment of nearly every kind of knitted fabric from solid fabrics to lace, motifs to medallions, and practical and amazingly complete instruction on designing your own garments and other projects. The "By The Way" chapter at the end gives a lot of the signature Mary Thomas historical information on knitting tools, knitting humor, transcribing a pattern, and caring for your woolens. The book is sprinkled throughout with factual historical gems and trivia that make Mary Thomas so readable and enjoyable.Because I learned to read charts from Mary Thomas' books, I think they are easy to follow, but the symbols are different than most knitting books on the market today. The key provided for the symbols is self explanatory and simple enough that even a beginner can catch on quickly with a little work and attention.If I had only two knitting books in my library, they would both be by Mary Thomas. Under her instruction, I learned to knit socks, gloves, mittens, and made my first original (or so I thought at the time) sweater pattern. I recently had to buy a new copy to replace my mother's worn and falling apart copy. I keep both of this author's books close at hand. I own a lot of knitting books, many of them very expensive, but very few are as helpful and complete as the Mary Thomas books.

This is a great explanation book for making cloth that really takes on the form you are after and why. Every stitch is explained in detail and well drawn. The fashion ideas are drawings and not excellent in any way. This is a how-to book, rather than a pattern book. It shows patterns of knit fabric, not patterns of finished pieces. If that is what you are after, you will not get it here,I am always on the outlook for stitch dictionaries. What I don't get in one book, may be crystal in another and not many people have tons of stitch patterns in their brains. Beginning charts, almost unheard of then, and good, understandable instructions with black and white photos that show off the stitch patterns well. I really am happy to have this book and it works well on my Kindle, because I can break the page down and really read the information, I don't need the page as a whole all the time.

My husband has been really into all the super heroes ever since he was little, as I'm sure a lot of boys were and probably still are. I really knew nothing about them until I decided to purchase my two year old a couple. I gave them to her for Christmas and she really took to them. We both really enjoy reading them together and have both learned so many name of superheroes and what their powers are. But what I love most about these books, is that its not really all about the superhero, they teach lessons, and they teach things like colors, shapes, words, counting, and body parts. They really are wonderful books - I let my daughter choose one of these books every night and we read together at bed time. My toddler and I started collecting all of them and we both get really excited when they arrive in the mail. My daughter started to think that the mail man was just giving them to us as gifts, as if I didn't have to buy them lol. We have collected every one and they are releasing another one next week which we have already pre ordered and are super excited about. The books are a great price and arrive quickly. I hope they continue to make these books because we really love collecting them and enjoy reading them. She is even starting to remember the words and "reads" along with me!

This is easily my son's favorite book. He loves looking at each superhero and I love the way the book puts the powers in simple words, easy to understand, appropriate for young kids. It's neat at the end to have the illustration of a ton of superheroes even ones not highlighted in the book. We ended up buying another book "Even Super Heroes Sleep" because we loved this one so much and it did not disappoint either. Would definitely recommend! My 2 year old son is obsessed.

I really like that this book focuses on personality traits more than super powers - Batman's super power is his brain, he's really smart and builds things to help people, Green Lantern received his power ring because he was brave, Hawkman and Hawkgirl can fly and work together etc. My three year old loves Batman so he says his super power is his brain, which I love!

Super cute book that helps explain the DC universe in a child friendly way. The kids love reading it and getting an idea of who is who and what their powers are.

Such a cute book! We just discovered these dc comic board books and hope to get more. I got this one for my husband for our daughter as a father's day gift. My hubby is all about superheroes and can't wait to have fun reading these to our daughter.
