I love the LDV blog. I was super excited and could not wait to receive my book. I wanted to see the PICTURES! But how many more pictures can we see of Paloma's house? I counted seventeen(17!! )of her living room, and multiple photos of her bedroom, dinning room, powder room and office. I don't have any other book that has repeated so many photographs of one space in a home. I wish there were more pictures of other projects we had not seen on her blog and only one picture of each room in her home.

I’ve read Paloma's blog for ages and bought the book at a minimum as an exchange for all the wonderful free content she’s provided over the years. And it’s well written with lovely photos. I didn’t give it five stars because there are a lot of photos of her home, which I feel has been pretty extensively covered on her blog. I would have liked to see more photos of client projects.As an aside, I also ordered Grant Gibson’s new book and in general, the “advice” is the same. I think the narrative where an author advises a reader they don’t know can be a challenge. I’d love to see a book where projects are presented with commentary like, the client wanted abc and because of this, I did xyz.

Paloma’s blog is enjoyable to read. She covers a variety of subjects and has a nice writing style. the writing in her book was just as enjoyable. What was very disappointing to me was the lack of photos showing a variety of projects and not yet seen by those of us who follow her blog. I was stunned by the amount of photos that not only have been posted to her blog, but were actually repeated more than once in this book. At first I thought I had gotten a book where a page was mistakenly repeated but it was actually just the same photo we have seen before in the blog and twice in the book.

I order lots of design books and many times I’m disappointed or feel like I’ve seen a lot of the images before. They are more like a compilation of magazine photos. This book is different. I made time to read it in one sitting because it was so interesting to read. Paloma addresses inspiration in a way that I’ve never read before but it makes so much sense. I appreciated the beautiful photography but more importantly, it seemed very well thought out and presented in such an organized and logical manner. I feel like I’ve gained insight and think her advice will help me make better design decisions.

I was honestly shocked, very bland, same pics of the same rooms page after page. Not inspiring.

We are in the process of decorating our new apartment right now and Paloma’s new book has practically become my bible. I am a total amateur when it comes to decorating and often find interior design books to be beautiful, but not very digestible or especially helpful because of that. Paloma really takes the time to break things down in her book, making interior design approachable for everyone (even me)! Her style is classic, yet modern and glamorous and I find myself so pleased with every decision I’ve made in our home as a result of her suggestions. I can not recommend this book enough!

I preordered Dream, Design, Live as soon as it became available. It was long awaited and hasn’t disappointed. This lovely book looks right at home on my sofa and is nearby to inspire and educate me on ways to combine the traditional to look fresh and modern. The photography delights the eye and provides a visual the helpful design tips. I plan to purchase copies to share with my daughters.

Was happy to add this to my book collection. Loved all the tips and beautiful photos inspiring everyone to develop their own taste which is refreshing these days. A treasure trove of ideas! Read cover to cover and will be a gift I give to all my friends!

This was a very good read for those looking to learn how to work remotely, but also travelabroad. He not only explains opportunities about studying abroad, but about actual work experience and opportunities available in other countries, respectively; but also, how to balance work and travel, the whole logistics (Accommodations, food, and transportation), Preparation, making friends (which can be a good support system), and most importantly the cost.If you’re thinking of traveling abroad while working, looking to travel while working as a freelancer, or seeking advice on finding a job in another country then this is a recommended read. Filled with tons of details and experience that will change your perception of what you should do to prepare yourself financially and mentally.

I was partners in a company that was acquired. I still need to work but didn’t need to work as much and really wanted to travel more. I spent quite a bit of time researching on Google and found a few good sources for ideas about how to travel and make some money at the same time. I really like the way that this author writes because he answered the questions that came to my mind as soon as they occurred to me. He’s a very intuitive writer in this regard. He talks about studying, working, and interning abroad, and even what visas to get. He gives travel tips that I had never thought of before and how to get involved in communities in other countries. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has wanted more out of life but feels stuck in their 9am-5pm job. This is the kind of book that inspires you to change your life! Loved it!

I just finished reading this and it was a fantastic book! This was a great read for me, not only because it gave me a greater perspective on life, but it offered hints and shortcuts on how I could merge my two passions together: travel and work. It gave me a fuller understanding of what to do and how to do it, so I could learn how to travel abroad and afford it by working abroad. By following in the footsteps of someone who has worked and traveled abroad, this book was such a guidance to me, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

Just gave as gift and it's great...but some pages of the calendar are out of order. Feb 3-21 is glued in between March 12-13. At least all the pages are there, just not in the right order! And the jumbles are awesome with answers on the back of each day.

I love the Daily Jumble puzzle every day in the Tribune. Sadly five weeks into the new year I find the daily calendar is missing twenty days! Amazon with its infinite customer service will not even acknowledge my feedback!
