Can someone PLEASE list the number of "easy", "moderate", "demanding" and "beware! extra challenging" puzzles in each of these books? This book has 100 "demanding" and 100 "beware! extra challenging". That's perfect for me, that's what I'm looking for. I'm tired of seeing "200 Hard puzzles"...only to discover it's got "moderate" ones in there. Will Shortz and the NY Times are (I assume) making a small fortune off these books. Lord knows I've been putting money in their pockets. So don't they do their customers the courtesy of listing how many of each category (that they named in the first place) is in each book? Until that happens (don't hold your breath), may I respectfully ask that reviewers include the tally themselves? I know it would help me and I'm assuming there are others out there who'd like to know exactly what they're buying. Thank you.

If you like hard Sudoku, but not at the most difficult level that requires a week to solve, these are for you. Most have double channels, hidden pairs and triplets, and take from 20 minutes to 45 minutes to solve.

The puzzles are challenging, but not impossible. The structure of the book, however, makes all the puzzles on the left side tricky because of the binding. The puzzles on that side of the book should always have a wider right side margin. Also, the paper is thin.My biggest complaint has to do with previewing - an experienced sudoku puzzler knows by looking at a puzzle whether it will be a challenge, or not. Amazon did not let me get inside to preview the puzzles, therefore, I was buying blind - the main reason I rarely buy a Sudoku book on line.

I have purchased numerous Sudoku books for my husband. Some of them he goes through in a few days, but he really likes this one because it is a challenge. He told me I could buy a dozen copies of this book for him and he would be fine with that. So far I've only purchased two. I guess this book really is irresistible. -- Just an update, I have now purchased a total of 6 copies of this book.

Should change title to "Irresistibly NOT THAT Hard Puzzles." I went right to the back of the book and did a couple of the "Beware! Very Challenging" puzzles and zipped right through them. Mostly just fill in the blank with just a couple of matching pairs and triplets involved. If you are looking for a Sudoku book of hard puzzles this is definitely NOT the book to get. The pages could be a little bigger to fill in missing numbers. Overall disappointed. More like a book of 2-3 star puzzles.

But I wish the descriptions told me exactly HOW hard the puzzles are, which level. I was looking for the Mind Bending, which are harder than these.

This is not my first Sudoku book from Will Shortz and that's because these are the best. Puzzles are very challenging. I've tried other Sudoku books and no other is as good. The Book came fast. It's not cheap looking and it is made well. Worth the reasonable price. It is a very good Sudoku book for anyone that enjoys Sudoku. I plan on getting another but I have to "try" and complete these first.

Got this for my dad, and he seems to love it!He's a hardcore Sudoku fan, so it seemed just enough challenging for him.

I was expecting something a bit different. I was put off somewhat by the "personal angst" that ran through the book. My husband and I went to Israel in 2014 and had an absolutely marvelous time, learning about Israel and walking in the footsteps of Jesus, and it deepened our faith in a wonderful way. I was looking for something that would echo the excitement and thrill that we felt as we visited the same places she did, but all I felt I found in her book were"sad vibes" and a "woe is me" attitude. I usually love Lynn Austin's writing, because in the books I have read, she is so descriptive that I feel like I am walking beside the characters, so was excited to get this book, only to find it a major disappointment.

I have liked most of Lynn Austin's book but this is one of my very favorites. I was asking myself why this was so and I think it is because Lynn Austin shared so much of herself in this journey and made the reader experience Israel in a very real way. Her descriptions of the different areas are phenomenal, you almost feel as if you are there. For those of us who are not able to make a trip over there, this book will give you a glimpse of what it was like during biblical times, where Jesus walked and more than anything, increase your faith in a loving, omniscient, omnipresent God who is still in control and has been all along. Thank you, Lynn Austin, for being so willing to share your faith, to share your struggles but also to share God's great love and faithfulness, even when we go through dry periods. This book was lovely and very encouraging, I would highly recommend this wonderful account of a pilgrimage by Lynn Austin.

We are headed to Israel this fall and a friend recommended this book. It is excellent. Easy read and we didn’t want to put it down. Austin puts the cookies on the bottom shelf in this one, connecting ancient history to today in real and tangible ways. (I highlighted quite a few passages.) It has certainly helped with prep for our trip.

It was like you were writing my story! We have all struggled in out faith at time, even if we will not admit it. I have felt lately like I could not move forward, and walking with you through the Holy Land I felt each path, each stone, the heat of the desert, I highly recommend this to anyone who is there or just wants a renewal phase in their life! Just returned from a trip to Israel. This book was such a blessing because Lynn covered so many of the places we visited. It was a reminder of where we had been and what the historical significance was.When you visit for the first time there is so much awe of being in such an important and holy place that you can't possibly comprehend all you've seen and heard. But equally as valuable was her insight into how those places were significant in our relationship and daily walk with God and how the footsteps of Jesus are implanted in our hearts.Loved it so much that I got four more copies of the book to send to some fellow travelers I met along the way.

This was a very inspiring book of her journey to Israel, it will fill your heart/soul and give you more faith. Most of her books are Christian historical fiction novels but I found this was so helpful in understanding the terrain of the land and physical condition people need to be in order to travel/walk anywhere. Also better/more understanding of the Bible. Love the beautiful prayers at the beginning of each journey and the sketches throughout the book.

the author let me tour Israel with her as she walked and wrote..i felt like I was right there experiencing the same thing she was..ABSOLUTELY AWESOME...HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO experience how this author made you feel like you were right there with her...not many authors can do that..SHE CAN...LOVED IT!!

Having completed my first pilgrimage in November, and preparing to take a group back in February - I was interested to read someone else's reflections on the journey.I was not disappointed. Lynn beautifully, and honestly writes of her reactions, struggles and reflections in this place where God's Story was birthed to life. She weaves scripture with history so seamlessly - and in ways that I had not heard while on the guided pilgrimage of my own.Her prayers were those of my own heart (just such better language than I can compose). Even the sites I was the most ambivalent about have a much deeper significance for me. Truly this was an inspired work.If you have been, are going, or dream of going to Israel to walk in the land where the Scriptures were breathed into being - I cannot recommend this enough.
