I really like this book for the information on natural alternatives to harsher chemicals and for the awesome recipes. I am of African descent with tight, curls. The first soap I ever made was the Goat Milk and Honey Shampoo Bar. I really liked how it cleaned my hair and left it shiny and well defined. My whole family was impressed. I am looking forward to using some of these other recipes.

Best soap book I have! Love the recipes! I convert the recipes to goat milk soaps and they turn out beautifully!

Well I figured since natural soap making that it will be without lye. But it needs lye which makes it difficult when you don't want to use lye or have lye in your house with little ones.

This book is beautifully created! Absolutely perfect for starters. The layout and organization is well thought out and so much knowledge is shared in a very easy to digest manner. A great balance between both the art and the science behind soap making. I found most helpful were the conversion charts, the natural colorant color swatches, the easy-to-understand use of SAP values, and the immense amount of starter recipes. I truly understand how to craft my own recipe using percentages and SAP values.This book is one book of a collection and should not be your only source though. I found this author had subjective views on which oils should and shouldn't be used for "ethical reasons" and which additives shouldn't be used based on the authors "research", but please note the author does not share any of this research in the form of footnotes or asterisks or are any of the research listed in the references part of the book.

I wish I had read more reviews and perhaps sampled this before I bought it. I’m vegan, and every recipe I’ve looked at includes lard or tallow. Wow! From what I understand I can probably substitute (responsibly sourced) palm oil as long I’m careful to to check everything, but the reason I bought the book is because I’m a beginner soap maker and I wanted to just follow a recipe. Oh, well.

I think the book contents are probably great, but I can't read it. Didn't realize that it was a digital copy. When I first purchased, I could read it on my computer. Now, I bought all the ingredients to make soap and can no longer access the book. Can anyone direct me? It is in my digital purchase history but not allowing me to see more than the look inside." Easy to follow directions. Great for both beginners and experienced soap makers. Only would have loved more pictures but I'm pleased with the book. Now I can't wait until mine is cured to see how it turned out.

Do not purchase this workbook nor the text book! Several of the questions are paired with incorrect answers, and far too much of the actual educational material is incorrect. For example, I drove myself crazy trying to complete the crossword puzzle of Chapter 1 (History and Career opp), and received a poor grade. When the instructor took extra time to review the document, she determined that every last question/answer pairing of the workbook was wrong - THE ENTIRE WORKSHEET!!!!! And when the instructor contacted the company, she was told THE SCHOOL must constantly check the Milady website for error corrections - WHAT A LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY MILADY! DO YOU THINK SCHOOLS ARE GOING TO CONSTANTLY CHECK ALL OF THESE DIFFERENT MILADY SUBJECTS, OR WILL YOU JUST TAKE THE HIT AT YOUR EXAM BEFORE THE BOARD? YOU WILL NOT DO WELL ON THE STATE BOARD EXAM IF YOU DEPEND ON THIS MILADY COLLECTION. FYI, THE MILADY BARBER COLLECTION IS ALSO FILLED WITH ERRORS. I purchase this book for natural hair care school and when I say gave me life, I mean that, we try and find products to work for our hair and we are not really sure what’s actually going on up there. At first I thought this book was very helpful for studying for the state board exam.The more I use it the more I realize that it is a waste of money because it does NOT provide the answers to the questions.Because there is no answers provided in the book makes it very difficult to quiz yourself properly, or learn from your mistake.To be honest that is the main reason why people purchase workbooks to use as a study guide and to quiz themselves.I highly recommend the Milady Natural hair care and braiding text book. But NOT the WORKBOOK.PS. I called Malady and spoken with Jenna Wilkerson and she informed me that an answer sheet exist but it's only for teachers.This makes no sense. Students need it more than teachers. The student are learning. The teacher should already know the answer. So why do they get the answer sheet and not us the students who paid for the book?Anyway, my suggestion is to save your money. I came across other books that provide questions with answers to better prepare you for the state board exam.Good luck to you all. Wishing you much success in your natural hair care journey.

I decided I was going to find out for sure. I bought this Kindle download by Spurgeon & was so glad I did! I was amazed at how much was covered in a relatively short booklet. It is written in the style of a time gone by when people took time to truly THINK. Spurgeon is a real inspiration to pray and meditate on the Word of God. He took the prayer, and for me opened a doorway of insight into my own life & how I look at things that resulted in a deeper walk with my Lord, Jesus Christ. I am very happy I learned of this teaching & I feel Spurgeon's booklet was the best introduction I could have had with it.

Spurgeon is definitely "old english" and a little difficult to read word for word. He has such a wonderful message that I couldn't just leave the book unread. Once I got to the point that I could read over his "thees" & "thous", etc and replace those with modern "English" it was very enlightening. I have read another of the "Jabez" books but found Spurgeon to cover a much broader scope of life and how we should pray or not pray about life...especially, in the latter part of his book.

This was an excellent read that I believe should be read by all Christians and would be good for Law of Attraction followers to read as well, because it ties into the power of prayer to bring blessing in many forms into your life, while explaining the higher moral values to be accompanied with your wishes.It was a true eye opener and made me think differently about the wants,dream and desires we all have throughout our lives. It gave me appreciation for what I have and actually showed me how to achieve more, but how to do so only if it be the Lord's will. I would have loved to been present at one of Charles Spurgeons actual sermons. I am sure it would have been life changing.

It was shipped fast etc. But the story line is more of little short one liners about different things not about the jabez prayer.

So not the most recent book of the same title.As always, Spurgeon does a masterful job of explaining, and extoling the Most High.Highly recommended.

This is still a milestone for spiritual growth. We speak lightly of being blessed but don't often think of the spiritual growth that results in true blessings. This book made me consider the depth of Jabez' s request that God would bless him.

This is an all round great book. It helps you to realize you have to keep your gaze on God. His blessings are truly a mystery but His will will always be to your benefit. You can't bargain with God and lose.
