The stories originally were published in such venues as The Saturday Evening Post, Colliers, and Ladies' Home Journal. To publish these stories, the author would have been obliged to reflect values and interests of the US suburban middle class; thus one will not find political messages or wild flights of fancy of his later novels. The stories tend to be sentimental, lightly humorous, and humane; indeed Vonnegut's moral vision and sense of humanity shines through.This collection primarily will be of interest to fans of Vonnegut's work who wish to trace his development as a writer back to his early years. Unfortunately (and inexplicably), no bibliographic information is provided about when and where each of the stories originally was published. As a lover of short stories, I am always on the lookout for new collections that I haven't read. I was surprised to see that Vonnegut was an author of short stories, but also that a good number existed at his death that had never been published. I had never read Vonnegut, although I was supposed to in high school, but they changed books in that class and so we missed out on his writing. I have meant to read one of his works, but have just never gotten around to it. For those who haven't, you are missing the work of a wonderful author and I would recommend getting some of his writing.This short story collection covers a wide range of stories. All were told with great skill and honed to be finely crafted stories. From the robot in the beginning to the money that talks near the end, these stories are carefully written to draw you in and then surprise you at the end. I would recommend this collection of stories to all, especially those that have never experienced Vonnegut's work!

I like Vonnegut short fiction and will probably read this one again.

There is a small set of Vonnegut stories and books coming out since his death and I am treasuring each one (and the few that I somehow missed) as I slowly catch up on all of them.

I bow to noone in my love of Vonnegut. But there's a reason why these early stories were unpublished: they are not, as a general rule, publishable by anyone but a Great Author whose name alone will sell books. There are flashes of the genius that was to come, but in general the stories here are tyro work.

Because I live 2000 miles away from my niece and nephew, I often buy books, create a video of myself reading it, and then send the book on to them. This was a recent selection, and it was a huge hit.If you're looking for a religious Easter book, this is not at all what you're after. I was looking for one that was specifically not religious, so it was perfect. It's great for kids who love dinosaurs, If you're a vegan/vegetarian family, you might like that it highlights baby birds coming from eggs, but you'd probably not be crazy about the fact that the eggs clearly aren't with their parents. It's definitely not a book with any kind of animal agenda, but it might put your kid off eggs if they are easily worried.In general, it's a fun, light story. We see a team of dinos preparing for Easter (the bunny is unable to do it), along with all the funny kinds of things you'd expect to happen if giant, awkward dinosaurs took the job from a tiny, agile bunny. It was a big hit, and I'd highly recommend it.

I ordered this book for my 5 year old grandson who is really into dinosaurs. He really enjoyed having it read to him and thought it was funny.He observes every detail in the illustrations, they show broken raw eggs. At the end the donated eggs hatched live birds. When we were dying Easter eggs later he kept asking me when they would hatch and what kind of birds they would be. You can imagine how he reacted later when his mommy used them for egg salad! He thought she killed the little birds! Cute story but a little confusing for a little kid who truly believes. I explained away his concerns but he STILL wouldn't eat the egg salad! :)

My son loves dinosaurs so I bought this for him for Easter. He loved it! We try to use proper names when we can, so the "real" dinosaur names didn't bother us, in fact, I loved it! (I have seen some negative reviews mention this). It's a very fun Easter book for any young child who enjoys dinosaurs.

Got this for my 4 year old and he LOVES it! The illustrations are well done and the story is super cute!!

The story was lame but the illustrations are cute and it kept my 4 and 7 year old's attentions while I read it. I wouldn't buy it again though.

For a business law class I'm currently taking. Hefty, 50+ chapters, a lot of content. Fact after fact after fact ... not a lot of filler is this book. Can be a bit hard to read at the end of the day if one is tired after a long day at work, but that's the nature of the subject matter. Chapters are short, usually 10 - 15 pages of narrative text, but there's a few cases - some interesting reading - and some questions at the end of each chapter, which adds to the size of the book. Will keep this as a reference and to assist with CPA exam prep.

Great book but I was able to find the PDF version online for free.

Very good tool for the class. As an engineer by undergrad and now pursuing my M.B.A., the language was a bit different than what I am used to, but nonetheless I have learned a great deal from the text.

This book is a really easy read! As recent graduate, I am definitely guilty of feeling and thinking like what the author explain is Psychological Triggers. It really got me thinking about all the times that I may have been a victim of psychological triggers, and if anything, this book gives me a really good insight onto how I can be more aware and catch psychological triggers. It's a must read for people who overthink a lot!

Psychological Triggers was a gem of a read and I'm happy I picked it up. It reminded me of Dan Ariely's work, but took it in a slightly different direction that was broader in context and applicability. In summary, this is certainly the type of book I enjoy, and I'm glad someone was able to get it right with such accuracy and insight.

I loved the in depth analysis and examples the author provides to make his point and he does it in a very readable way. It was an inspiring read.

Gets to the point quickly with appropriate examples. Refers to psychological history and its implication to dealing with the craziness of modern living.

A lucid account of an essential mechanism. A valuable contribution to one’s psychological toolbox.
