I recommend the book as an anecdote to the widely held view of the monolithic structure of Islam (a point specifically addressed in the final section of the book). This would be a very good book for a comparative religions course.

I bought this book for my almost 2 year old daughter since my husband is a police officer. We want to make sure she is exposed to what police officers do and that they are helpful and kind to people. The book is simple and has only a few words on each page which allow us to point out different items on the page like the police dog, bicycle, etc. making it more relatable for her. There is a glossary in the back which I really liked and it even showed the holster as where the gun goes and attaches to belt. I am really glad that they included such an important part of the uniform and were not shy about the gun!The book is definitely working for the purpose we purchased it for because after only a few reads my daughter points at the male police officer and says Daddy! I am glad to have found a book that will expose her to all the great things her Dad does at work!

With a law enforcement family and today's climate, I was looking for a book to help my daughter see that police are not bad people and are to you go to when you need help. My daughter is only 2, and the book is quite wordy, but it does the trick and will remain a staple for the next few years.

Purchased this used for my granddaughter's birthday. She's 4 and loves policemen. Her mom said it's really great because there are so many policemen in there that are actually policewomen. Great message for a young child. Like I said, I purchased this used and it came to me in great shape. The only way you knew it was used is because there was a teacher's name on the inside cover. Covered that with a sticker...no one even knew!

I'm a preschool teacher, and my class was learning about community helpers, and they just loved this book! It did a great job at explaining what Police Officer's do to help our community, without going over my children's heads!
