This is an excellent book on web & content governance. I looked hard for one that covered the sites themselves, and not just content - very hard to find.There is so much I want to pull out of this book and immediately implement.Highly recommended.
good read on core digital concepts
I really cannot recommend this book more highly. In my world of hi-tech it is incredibly hard to get clients to embrace the fact that technology in and of itself will not resolve their problems, will not 'digitize' their business, will not bring about a 'digital transformation'. In fairness many do understand that the digital economy demands tight control over the processes and ownership of data and content, but again outside of highly technical data governance discussions there is little practical advice or guidance available. Finally there is a book than anyone engaged in any kind of enterprise 'digital' project should buy and read, and if they only take 10% away from the lucid and solid guidance within these pages, they will be way ahead of the competition. Lisa Welchman has done an excellent job of making a potentially dense and difficult topic digestible and easy to take action with. Fortunately corners have not been cut though in making the contents digestible, this is a very comprehensive manual on digital governance.I have already started to recommend this to my clients be they enterprises, technology vendors or service providers. I suspect I will be doing so for many years to come and that this book will become required reading.
